Privacy at a glance
We collect only crash and diagnostic data from MMPK Downloader. It is not linked to you. We do not collect the contents of your map packages or other files.
Diagnostics help us fix technical problems. They are not used for advertising, user profiling, or behavioral analytics. If you email us, we receive the information you choose to send so we can respond.
1. Overview
APParent Content Creation LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) develops MMPK Downloader. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app or contact us about it.
Data collected from the app is limited to crash and diagnostic information and is not linked to your identity. We do not collect the contents of your files. We use diagnostics only to troubleshoot technical problems and maintain app reliability and performance.
Information you voluntarily send us in a support message is handled separately, as explained in Section 4.
2. Crash and diagnostic data
The app may provide limited technical reports automatically through app or platform diagnostic-reporting services, subject to applicable permissions and consent settings. These reports may include:
- Crash reports and technical error information.
- Performance information, such as app responsiveness, failures, or stability measurements.
- Device model, operating system version, and app version needed to investigate a technical issue.
This information is not linked to any user, account, or personal identity. We do not combine it with other information to identify you. Diagnostic reports do not include the contents of downloaded map packages or other user files.
We do not collect app-use information for behavioral analytics, advertising, or marketing. We do not use diagnostics to track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not sell or rent this information.
Where consent is required for diagnostic collection, we obtain it before collection. Section 7 explains privacy choices and how to contact us about collection or consent.
3. Downloads, file contents, and external services
MMPK Downloader helps you download Mobile Map Package (.mmpk) files from a URL, save them to a Files-accessible location on your device, and move them into another app such as ArcGIS Field Maps.
Downloading or saving a file on your device is different from collecting its contents as developer data. We do not collect, retain, or use your map-package contents or other user-file contents for diagnostics or analytics.
Download sources
To retrieve a file, the app uses the download address you provide or that your organization configures. The server hosting that file receives the download request and may process your IP address, the requested URL, and other information necessary to serve the download. That provider’s privacy practices and your organization’s policies apply to its handling of the request. This is separate from the diagnostic data collected by us.
Files, cloud storage, and other apps
If you save or move a file into cloud storage, a shared folder, or another app, that service handles the file under its own terms and privacy policy. Device backups may also contain downloaded files, depending on your settings. We do not control those external copies.
Managed devices
Your organization may supply a predefined download URL through mobile device management (MDM). Your organization and its MDM provider control that configuration and their own device-management records. Contact your administrator about those practices.
MMPK Downloader is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Esri. ArcGIS Field Maps and Esri are trademarks of their respective owners.
4. Information you send us
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to provide. We use them to answer your inquiry, investigate your issue, and provide support. This correspondence is separate from the app’s diagnostic reports, which are not linked to users.
Please do not send confidential map packages, access credentials, private download links, or other sensitive information unless it is necessary for your request. You may request deletion of your support correspondence using the contact details below.
5. Service providers and disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, or share it for advertising tracking.
Service providers may process crash and diagnostic information on our behalf solely to help diagnose problems and maintain the app. Our email provider processes support correspondence so we can respond. Providers acting on our behalf must use information only for the agreed purposes and provide appropriate safeguards and protection consistent with this policy.
We may disclose information we actually hold when required by applicable law, valid legal process, or a lawful government request. This does not give us access to file contents that we do not possess.
When you visit this policy webpage, our hosting provider may process routine technical request information, including your IP address, browser information, and request time, to deliver and protect the website. That website activity is separate from the app’s diagnostics. This policy page includes no advertising trackers or analytics scripts.
6. Retention and deletion
- Crash and diagnostic data: retained only as long as reasonably necessary to investigate technical issues, monitor stability, and maintain performance and compatibility. When no longer needed, it is deleted or retained only in an aggregate form that does not identify individuals.
- Support correspondence: retained as reasonably necessary to resolve your request, maintain necessary support records, and meet applicable legal obligations; then deleted.
- Downloaded files: remain in the storage location you selected until you or the relevant storage service removes them. We do not retain their contents as developer data.
Use the Files app or the relevant storage or receiving app to remove downloaded files. Deleting MMPK Downloader may remove its local app data but does not necessarily remove files moved elsewhere, exported copies, or backups. Manage those separately.
We cannot retrieve or delete files we do not possess. Where diagnostic records cannot be associated with a particular person, we may be unable to locate an individual record in response to a deletion request.
7. Your privacy choices and rights
For diagnostic information shared through Apple, review Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, including app-developer sharing options where available. Names and availability vary by operating system version. Apple’s settings govern Apple’s reporting and do not necessarily control a separate diagnostic service.
Contact [email protected] to ask how diagnostics are handled, request help withdrawing consent where applicable, or request access, correction, or deletion of personal information you voluntarily provided to us. We will explain applicable controls and respond in accordance with applicable law. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already lawfully performed.
You can stop using and remove the app at any time. For managed-device settings or copies held by your organization, contact your administrator. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to raise a concern with your local data-protection authority.
8. Children’s privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under another age where applicable law requires parental consent. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, including through a support email, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect the limited information we handle. No electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Use trusted download sources and follow your organization’s rules for handling map packages, links, and device access. The security of a download or external storage location also depends on the provider you select.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app or our practices change. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Where a material change requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it as required before applying that change.
