1. Overview

APParent Content Creation LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) develops LumaPDF. This policy explains how information is handled when you use LumaPDF on supported mobile platforms, including iOS and Android where available, or contact us about the app.

LumaPDF is designed to work without creating a user account or providing a name, email address, telephone number, location, or contact list. We do not collect these details through ordinary app use. Voluntary support correspondence and processing by independent services are explained separately below.

2. Your documents and device permissions

LumaPDF needs to access the content you choose to scan, import, edit, or export to perform those tasks. Accessing a document on your device is different from collecting it on our servers. We do not receive or store your photos, scans, PDF files, extracted text, annotations, or signatures as part of the app’s document-processing features.

• Camera: used when you choose to photograph or scan a document.
• Photos and files: used to open content you select and save or export the results.
• Document processing: scanning, editing, text recognition where available, and PDF creation take place on your device.

You can decline or revoke device permissions in your device’s settings. Features that depend on a permission may not work while it is disabled.

When you choose to share a document, its content is sent to the person, app, or service you select. Documents saved to a cloud-backed folder or included in device backups may be handled by your chosen storage or backup provider under its own privacy policy. Those copies are not stored or controlled by us.

3. Limited diagnostic information

LumaPDF may collect limited, non-personal technical information to identify bugs, maintain compatibility, and improve app reliability and performance. This may include:

• Crash reports, technical error logs, and performance measurements.
• Device type or model, operating system version, and app version.
• Basic app-launch or feature-use events used for diagnostics and app improvement.

Diagnostic information may be generated automatically by the app or made available through platform diagnostic-reporting services, subject to applicable permissions and consent settings. It is not linked to a LumaPDF user account or used to identify you personally, build advertising profiles, or track you across apps or websites. Reports are reviewed in aggregate where appropriate. Document content is not part of the diagnostic information described here.

Where consent is required for diagnostic or usage collection, it must be obtained before collection. Your choices for platform reporting and privacy requests are described in Section 8.

4. Information you provide when contacting us

If you email us, we receive your email address, the message, and any information or attachments you choose to send. We use this information to respond, investigate the issue, and handle your request. This is separate from ordinary app use.

Please do not send sensitive documents or other personal information unless it is necessary for your request. You may ask us to delete your support correspondence using the contact details below, subject to any applicable legal retention requirements.

5. Purchases, external services, and this webpage

If you purchase LumaPDF or paid features through an app store, the store processes the payment under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not collect your full payment-card details or banking credentials. The store separately handles its account, transaction, and purchase records.

External apps, websites, storage providers, and sharing destinations have their own privacy practices. You can read Apple’s Privacy Policy for information about Apple’s services.

When you visit this policy webpage, the hosting provider may process routine technical request information, such as your IP address, browser information, and request time, to deliver and protect the website. That website activity is separate from LumaPDF’s document processing. This policy page does not include advertising trackers or analytics scripts.

6. How information is shared

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not share it for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking.

Limited diagnostic information or support correspondence may be handled by service providers that help us diagnose issues, operate support email, or maintain the service. Providers acting on our behalf are required to use information only for those purposes, protect it appropriately, and provide protection consistent with this policy.

We may disclose information we actually hold when required by applicable law, a valid legal process, or a lawful government request. This does not give us access to documents that remain solely on your device.

7. Data retention and deletion

• Diagnostic information: retained only for as long as reasonably needed to investigate errors, monitor reliability, and improve compatibility; then deleted or retained only in an aggregate form that does not identify individuals.
• Support correspondence: retained as reasonably needed to respond to and resolve your request, maintain necessary support records, and meet applicable legal obligations; then deleted.
• Local documents: remain under your control. Remove files using the app’s available controls or your device’s file-management tools. Deleting the app generally removes its local app data, but does not necessarily remove exported documents, cloud copies, or backups. Manage those separately with the relevant provider.

We cannot retrieve or delete documents we do not possess. We also cannot locate an individual’s record within information that is genuinely anonymous and cannot be linked to that person.

8. Your rights and privacy choices

No LumaPDF account is required, so there is no app account to close. You can control access to the camera, photos, and files through your device’s settings and remove local content as described above.

For diagnostic information shared through Apple, review the options under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, including app-developer sharing where available. Setting names and availability can vary by operating system version. Apple’s settings govern Apple’s reporting and do not necessarily control a separate reporting service.

To ask about diagnostics, withdraw consent where applicable, or request access, correction, or deletion of personal information you have voluntarily provided to us, email [email protected]. We will explain the applicable controls and respond to requests in accordance with applicable law. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already lawfully performed.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, including the right to raise a concern with your local data-protection authority. We do not require you to send identity documents merely to ask a privacy question.

9. Children’s privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under another age where applicable law requires parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, including through a support message, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect the limited information we handle. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for securing your device and selecting appropriate recipients and storage locations when sharing or exporting documents.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app or our practices change. The current policy will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Where a material change requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it as required before applying that change.
